"Third World Farmer" sounds like it can teach a lot about how the real world works for people in Africa and Asia who are below the poverty level. And by making a player identify with the farmer role, it helps with understanding how it is to be in that situation, albeit from an arm-chair view. Still, every little bit helps in bringing about greater understanding of others in the world.

What a great idea One Web Day is! There are so many places in the world that are just starting to access the web - how wonderful to promote that and make it happen sooner. Thanks for publicizing this interesting concept.

You're welcome. There are more than 500,000 small nonprofits (less than $25,000 in gross annual receipts) in the US. That represents a lot of people working for important causes whose voices are not regularly heard.

Elizabeth, thank you very much for your comment. It is great to see the issue from the perspective of a small organization like SHARED. We really appreciate the real world example!

We are definitely in the earlier stages in terms of mass adoption of social technology. There is considerable momentum, but new technologies are coming fast and furiously. It's definitely hard to tell which of the latest ones will be most effective,, not just in general but for one's organization in particular.
Thanks so much for your comment. :)
